I believe that Thurston County needs a genuine strategic plan to avoid a repeat of the past 2 years of crisis budgeting. We need a budget that addresses the county's most critical needs.  When elected, I will work to adopt an operational strategic plan and budget that includes the prioritization of county services, especially public safety and public health. A quality plan is critical if we are to properly manage government and balance the county budget with sustainable revenues. Cooperation and collaboration with other levels of government are crucial if we are to move Thurston County forward. The citizens of our County deserve no less.

I have the experience to accomplish this important job. I've been employed in the public and private sector, and owned my own small business for 13 years. I served 10 years on the Thurston County Historic Commission and I have over 40 years of local community service and leadership.

Four generations of my family have lived in Thurston County. As a long time resident I care deeply about the future of our community and will work to restore efficiency and competency to county government. Our future depends on balancing environmental concerns with the need for economic development and creating family wage jobs.
